Incredibly noble ideal. Ditto for your other comment about Germany.

I share your ideal, and raise it to disunification of France and Spain too, and probably Poland.

I’m less familiar with what cultural grounds you would use to propose such plans, but sure, sounds good.

Same thing as in Italy. Different historical polities and cultures forced into a unitarian state by sheer violence and war.
