Despite all the FUD around the Bitcoin price, what I find most interesting is the hash rate still is above 1 zetahash per second. Talk about a level of superiority and strength you don’t commonly hear about in the MSM.

I’m still relatively new to bitcoin. I’ve learned a tremendous amount, but still have a way to go.

What’s the significance of the hashrate you mentioned, in particular that it is above 1 zetahash? ( two part question, actually )

The hash rate is the total amount of computing power protecting the Bitcoin network.

A rising hash rate generally means:

• More miners are participating.

• More investment is going into securing Bitcoin.

• Confidence in the network is growing.
