The problem I see with the advice given by self-custodial lightning zealots is that they push it as an all or nothing approach. Lightning is vast, and you can utilize the entire ecosystem of custodial wallets, self-custody wallets, running your own routing node, cashu wallets and mints, etc., with minimal risk to losing your funds. Pushing people to ONLY running self-custodial lighting is a good way to ensure they lose money and never use it again.

Meet people where they are and give them the tools and education for what they are trying to accomplish on lightning.
