you jest surely… but ironically it was much more cypherpunk than current music streaming. kids illegally pirated songs, stored the files in a self soverign way on the hard drive, and played the songs with a “self hosted” player 🤣 Elizabeth Warren would have been so mad if she understood any of this.

Remembering back a little bit…the biggest fault was the fact that it could real live stream. Man, these kids will never appreciate what we have now 🤣

You aren't wrong at all but if I could turn back the hands of time I would only go back about 20 years ago when I used Foobar and VLC. Nothing has fully replaced them.

I still use VLC for almost all media.
