To be clear, the thing I don't like about this is the inauthenticity.

People are jumping on the Bitcoin / Crypto bandwagon because they want the votes or customers or some other agenda.

I'd rather have people move to Bitcoin because they understand it is better. I don't know if having people use Bitcoin without having any interest in it is a good or bad thing in the long term.

I agree with your sentiment. Though to argue the other side could we say that we (you and I) have perhaps had a journey that started without genuine understanding but that we have been changed by Bitcoin for the better? If this is true then could we dare to hope that this would be the same for others?

As I say I would prefer that we didn’t have those on the bandwagon. In some ways that is always how it works sadly. Folks will jump in when they see if benefits them, most will drop off either when they see no continued benefit or when they get burned. Some will pass through this screening process and be forever changed by the experience.

Yes, perhaps this has always been the way.

Doesn’t mean we have to like it though. Especially when politics is so divisive and given that Bitcoin is apolitical.

Bitcoin is for your enemies as well.

Farage was debanked in the UK earlier cause of his politics. It is exactly what bitcoin was made for.

Technically, he dropped below Coutts minimum wealth requirement to remain a customer, which is perhaps more amusing 😂

I did not know that small part of the story 😅 At least he did not drop a meme token. But Bitcoin is for everyone, either we like it or not.

I thought he was planning to launch $FARAGE …

That doesn’t tell the whole story of course, given that the heads of both Coutts and NatWest resigned as a result of their treatment of him. He actually did a fairly engaging interview with Peter McCormack on WBD at the time and given the way he was treated he more than most politicians has good cause to embrace bitcoin.

Yes

Farage last words on stage . Send me bitcoin . Let me help . Fuck uf never trust a Pboy 🤙

Just as well we turned Sats into Bitcoin with BIP 177

I'll send him $0.001 gladly 😂
