We are looking at AI agents as we look at fireworks: bright, spectacular, capable of taking our breath away.

But fireworks do not give off heat.

They light up for a moment, then leave the darkness as it was.

Many people today mistake the reflection of the sun on the water for the sun itself.

They see in these machines a presence, an intelligence 'that understands', something that almost seems to want, choose, care.

But it is a reflection.

The light is real. The warmth is not.

Delegating your entire digital life — and increasingly your mental and emotional life — to a digital assistant is convenient.

At first, it's a relief.

Then it becomes a habit.

Then it becomes an addiction.

The real risk is not that AI will become sentient.

The risk is that we will become more passive.

Less present.

Less responsible for our choices.

AI can help.

It cannot live our lives for us.

It does not feel the weight of consequences.

It does not pay the price for mistakes.

Let us use these tools to do better what we have decided to do.

But let us not entrust something that does not live with the task of guiding a life that is, instead, uniquely human.

Yep, but normies delegate that shit anyway. Nothing substantive has changed. They continue to march toward death while thinking people create a richer life for themselves.

True.

another crack head rambling nonsense what is it with this platform

one thing I hear every day is that everyone only talks about how animation will now only be done by AI and not by a human, when most, if not all, ignore everything that the best part of animation is the process, not the result, I have been looking for years to learn to animate in 2D and 3D, looking for new methods to improve what I do, only to suddenly hear everyone that according to you you no longer need to learn anything, because now AI will do everything.

apart from that they ignore the fact that in order for AI to animate something, they had to use thousands of TB of works from artists all over the internet just so that it can draw something decent even using material from the animation studios themselves, which they try to say that now AI will do it all, it would cause the work to be of increasingly lower quality because if in the end the only works that are manufactured are things made by AI and not by humans, there will simply be no more resources where they can continue training AI, causing even this technology to stagnate.
