The reason I thought #Pepethon was inevitable is in the nature of pepe as a meme for what it represents. I think it's the psychological attribute of a face that can have emotions that becomes a perfect tool for memetic communication. We paste this face onto anything to ridicule it, even itself, to claim it, to own it. The character remains the same, a dumb frog, and represents counter culture. An emblem that represents us as a leaderless community that will attack anything that has a leader.
Don't trust, verify, is in line with this mindset. Trying to topple or break things is a good way to verify wether something should exist and keep doing so. It isn't restricted to #bitcoin, it needs to happen to everything we do and I think pepe represents that. #Nostr requires testing and breaking too, if we don't do it ourselves someone else will with malicious intent. #Zapathon was conceived of to test zaps, zap culture and wallet integration, Nostr needs it. Pepethon is the ridiculing of zapathon to see if it has merit. I think we all know the answer. Wether Pepethon takes over doesn't matter, Zapathon as a construct will keep performing its function whatever we call it.
