They are not in Washington. They are where free speech lives.
The ideals of courage to call out the bullshit and speak truth to power especially when it feels the loneliest are influenced by ideals from a higher calling instilled in us by 🇺🇸.

When you have real free speech, you need very few Patriots for the revolution to start.
But now we are many.

To my kids I hope to have one day: I hope you read this and know I did everything I could to make this a place worthy of your wonder and creativity. I hope you read this one day and know saying what needed to be said was worth the risk of not ever getting to meet you. I couldn’t live with myself if I knowingly brought you into a world where what’s been happening is ok and I didn’t say something.
To our international friends, what the flag has always represented to me was ambition, merit and leaving it better than you found it for future generations. No one here in the US that has ever done anything interesting has ever judged someone on race, creed or color because anyone with any hint of intelligence knows how asinine that evaluation criteria is. It’s so uninteresting, boring and unintelligent to screen for anything less than merit.
That’s what this flag means to me 🇺🇸
Judging on anything less than merit is a clear sign of incompetence and the opposite of the ideals that made a great nation.
