Lots of side effects that must have a UI to fix them.

- What happens when percentages don't get to 100%?

- What happens if you already have a 100% setting and you add another person? Or when you remove it? Does it redistribute or do you manually go there and edit each one of them?

- Do people even want to do this math?

Option:

User wants to split. They enter people in the split. Defaults to 1 weight on each. Percentage automatically calculated and displayed. User configures weight. Percentage automatically updates.

Calculating percent is too much to ask people to do.
