The EU has now warned both X and Meta of disinformation circulating in their networks.

First, how can the EU, sitting thousands of miles away, know what is true and what is false?

Secondly, assuming they can, trying to label disinformation is like trying to put doors to the countryside (sorry, direct translation from a Spanish saying).

The answer is to proactively sign and verify content. Video claims to be from BBC? Attach a warning that it’s not signed by the BBC.
