I’ve been trying to gently encourage her to use Nostr more.
When I traveled to Zimbabwe and Botswana the first time in 2020 I knew only one Bitcoin initiative on the whole continent. It was Alakanani Itireleng‘s Satoshi Centre in Gaborone. There might have been some others as the continent is huge. But it guess it was only a handful.
In 2022 we started nostr:npub1fqqtc58rx9mslpydp9849pmlh4x8f5m8js399aqanlqjg6v6x9lq5qqzch Bitcoin for Fairness #Zambia, initiated what later became Bitcoin Reach in #Zimbabwe and worked with nostr:npub1zkr064avsxmxzaasppamps86ge0npwvft9yu3ymgxmk9umx3xyeq9sk6ec in #SouthAfrica.
Now there are:
118 Total Bitcoin organizations in 18 African countries.
17 new orgs added in Q2 (+16%)
2 new countries with Bitcoin activity: Tanzania and Malawi
