Is there any industry that can get away with selling a broken product and foist the responsibility of fixing it onto the consumer?
What would happen if General Motors sold a truck without doors and seats, then accuse customers of being whiny and entitled when they say "Uh, no. That's bullshit. Not buying."? No, they'd be laughed out of the room.
But game companies have been doing precisely that for nearly 20 years and gamers have meekly rolled over and accepted being whipped and spat on, rewarding their abusers with their money. And any time gamers say anything about it they're shouted down with "racism! sexism! homophobe!" and how do gamers respond? "yes massuh, I wuz a bad boi massuh, here's $70 for your microtransation-filled tranny propaganda, boss." It's pathetic how hard stockholm syndrome has infected the wider gaming community.
