Also, it's literally that easy for mainnet... Not sure why this is an unreasonable ask.

Its not necessarily that easy on-chain. You have to backup your seed and you should do that in a robust way, like stamping into metal.
All I'm saying is people should be able to use the lightning network in a non custodial way without having to know how to use a command line.
You can already use lightning non custodial without command line. But I understand your point, and am hopeful about getting to a good enough solution
I think solutions like Muun are promising. If I could have a wallet like Muun and be able to recover it with a seed and set up a non custodial ln address, that would be the ideal solution.
I was going to mention muun. Muun iirc is a 2 of 2 multisig and you get both keys so you can rdcover without them. There are also the node in a box solutions too like mynode/umbrel/etc.
Obfuscating mainnet and lightning in one wallet like Muun is great for end user experience. I do wish you could see more details through optional settings though.
Ultimately the solution I like best is the node in a box. It encourages would be users to actually learn about the systems they're using. The problem with node boxes right now is that a lot of the out of the box plug and play solutions I think are best for the consumer market are too expensive. Sure you can build your own for dirt cheap but there should be an option I can just buy for around 150 to $200 plug it in turn it on and I can start configuring something as simple as unrel that's already pre-installed.
