I think you’re right. If clients could allow connecting your preferred data storage as easily as you can connect your lighting wallet then we would be in business. And taking it further, if creators could have zaps/tips routed to storage providers to pay hosting fees, things could really get going.
420 Million users will come online via a software update in the next by the end of the year. Reading between the lines Twitter is getting to roll out their Nostr Client.
Highly doubt Twitter will touch nostr in any way until it is way more stable and established.
With FB's news dropping today something tells me we are closer than you think.

It’s only a matter of time before there is a client for every app in the Apple Store. If big tech doesn’t embrace they will be block bustr’d in the next 6-12 months.
I think #[5] mentioned something like #Nostr will be a key layer to the internet. Heavily paraphrased, I’m no Jeff Booth.
