Can’t speak for him but I’m hesitant to use any app that requires my location.
almost every popular app requires location, including sc, fb, insta, twitter etc...tracks IP throughout
We only use approx geolocation (10 miles radius) that the user can turn off anytime and you can be as anonymous as you like.
Also since we don’t do ads, there’s no tracking, we only pull approx location when the app is open.
On IOS I’ve set it so that OPA asks if it can use my (approx) location each time I open it and I always choose ALLOW ONCE. So as far as I know I’m only giving location data when I use the app.
That’s the default behavior of the app. We only pull you approx geolocation once per app session
Can’t run it on GrapheneOS?
We don’t actively support de-googled phones (small team) but we know of some users who are using OPA just fine with the apk
