I struggle to teach my kids bitcoin. I gave my kids some keys with bitcoin, but they're not as deep down the nerdy rabbit hole as me. I want them to understand so I talk about quite a bit.
The other day, my teenage son yelled like a teenager, "You never shut up about bitcoin! It's annoying."
So I said, "I do talk about bitcoin too much. Let's make a deal. I will make you something like a swear jar. If I say the word bitcoin, I'll pay a dollar worth of bitcoin and give it to you at the end of a year. "
"Deal."
Yesterday, he says, "Dad, I need you to talk about bitcoin again, because I need some more."
I send a dollar's worth of bitcoin to it every day if I talk about bitcoin or not. I use [LNBits](https://lnbits.com/) and the [Minibits](www.minibits.cash) wallet, but the lightning address QR code [Primal](https://primal.net/)provides would work just as well.
# How I Made A Bitcoin Swear Jar
1. I spray painted this [wooden jar](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Plaid-Unpainted-Surface-Wood-Mason-Jar-1-Piece-10/560292230?classType=VARIANT&from=/search).
2. I wrote, "sat swear jar" with an acrylic marker.
3. I printed a QR code of an [LNBits](https://lnbits.com/) instance using the Scrub extension and [TPOS extension](https://github.com/lnbits/tpos) set up to send sats to a [Minibits wallet](https://www.minibits.cash/). In retrospect, a lightning address QR code would have worked too.
4. I printed the QR code and glued it to the wood.
