The experiment was simple enough, despite the 1.23 billion dollar budget and the 80 mile particle accelerator required to pull it off. The goal was to open a window into one of the 7 dimensions curled into a cosmic string—a window smaller than 10 Planck lengths. Nothing could move from our dimension into the one we accessed. Anything would be to big to pass through the window.

But that dimension held tiny gods and we allowed them to escape. Smaller than viruses, they used viruses as hosts.
