Electrostatics and density, which can both be manipulated and demonstrated through experiments. The earth has a negative charge, therefore creating a downward bias.
It's true gravity is only a theory.
"Gravity" is not what keeps everything stuck to the ground. It's just a theory, or attempt to explain a natural phenomenon
