I borrowed someone’s #tesla Model Y for a while while they were traveling for the holidays. It feels like a spaceship compared to my current ride and the “Full Self Driving” blew my mind at how capable it was.

I don’t think I will ever trust a self-driving car.

Ha, I understand that. I definitely was alert and it did do a few goofy things that I took over for. But honestly it was already a better driver than some people I know 👀😂

Unfortunately all new cars are highly connected which makes them privacy and security concerns. Waiting for someone to come out with the Linux or GrapheneOS of cars 😅

Until then there’s always antique cars and motorcycles 🙂

Volkswagen exposed the location data of hundreds of thousands of drivers in the EU on an insecure website. Car companies just can’t be trusted with this information.

Wow!

Maybe I’m cynical but I bet they just got a slap on the wrist over it. I don’t want to be over litigious but if there were painful consequences for that kind of thing they’d have much better incentives to not even collect it.

I know some semi-modern cars can have the connectivity disabled by pulling a fuse that powers the cellular modem. I can not confirm or deny if I did that with my own car 😇

After looking at this review by Mozilla, I'm inclined to not wanting to ride a Tesla or any other modern car...

That’s terrible!

All 25 major car brands failed 😵‍💫
