From the frying pan to the fire we use to call it....
Don't know if he'll get a Darwin Award, but certainly deserves a special mention. That said, there's some interesting background details to this I just looked up. Me thinks there may be more to this than just the cover story. Sounds like a defection to me, or some weird intel op gone astray.
'A senior defense official told Fox News that King had just finished about two months in a South Korean detention facility following a physical altercation with locals. After King was arrested and throughout the time he was held at the facility, he made comments that he did not want to come back to America, according to the official.'

Whoa, haven't heard that saying for a long time. Very fitting.
If we take this story at face value, I could not imagine what may have happened to him (or what he thought was going to happen to him) to cause him to think North Korea is a better option than coming home.
I agree we should assume that all the facts are weeks away from coming out. One can only feel bad for him as this could be a deadly decision....
At this point, barring some like pedo shit or something coming out, yea kinda do feel bad for him the more I been thinkin this over. That's clearly a decision that was made in serious haste for whatever reason.
He’s black and has been conditioned to believe America is deeply racist and that no action he takes is his fault.
According to him his arrest was due to racism and not whatever criminal shit he did.
Also, according to him a regime that starves it’s own people was a better option.
Some people deserve their Darwin awards.
