While I believe that Eliezer Yudkowsky and Elon Musk's remarks about the dangers of AI are well intended and reasonable, my deepest and selfish fear is that this over-cautionary approach to AI will, ultimately, slow down the AI-driven breakthroughs necessary to have my mother with me in this life for a little longer.
