I wrote about it in my article yesterday but one of the things that’s got me favoring Nostr just a bit more than mastodon is the fact that your account is mostly immune to tyrant admins and your data cannot be lost unless you lose your key, which is entirely on you and nobody else

Losing your posts and more importantly your work needs to be a thing of the past, it’s not acceptable in modern tech
to run clients locally might be a fair solution to this; the extra benefits would cover the extra effort of doing so: gather your own data, doing it analysis, etc. Better privacy and care of content, and a faster smoother experience of the protocol
