Unfortunately, the reality is that coming to #nostr and engaging actively with a curious mind opens one up, to gazzzilion times more vulnerability to security and identity breachew and fraud than on any other networks. Simply because of its central btc focua. Most regular folks like myself are inadequately prepared at best for the predatory nature of the many conniving characters hiding behind pseudonyms on here, fishing.

What happened?

Yeah what happened? I haven’t experienced any of that. Just the occasional DM promoting some crypto scam, but you just ignore those.

Sorry to hear that- I’ve generally seen way less solicitation or predatory attacks here than the spam I get on traditional social networks. Nostr will keep improving though

Really .. why would a fraudster set up shop on #nostr .. I mean she can hunt easily on X or insta ... as regards to curiosity ..yes .. but that seems like a feature ..not a bug
