I really actually hope Nostr continues to fly under the radar for a while.
We don't need attention from the EU regulators right now.
They'll try to go after our devs for not implementing censorship.

I love nostr because I can post when I shouldn't be. Very few people I know have a set of keys here and I'm the only active user of everyone I know. Even the friend who introduced me to this platform isn't as active as I am.

Open Sats legal defense fund?
Better to have and not need than...
There are no Nostr devs, there are only devs for each different client.
Those are the ones the EU is going to go after though. We need to protect them. For now they don't know that we exist yet and that's a good thing. But they'll find out about us sooner or later.
Here's my theory:
Nostr will mostly be left alone for some years.
While the EU bureaucrats are largely incompetent, they are still rational enough to focus on practical results.
Their goal is to limit the spread of non-approved opinions, since public perception is still vital to their power.
Since most Eurpeans are not on Nostr, there is low risk for the EU bureaucrats that Nostr will have a great impact on European public opinions in the near future.
If the majority of sheep are not listening to lions speaking the truth, the EU regulators will focus on more pressing matters.
Once that changes, they will certainly try to ban Nostr in the EU.
