I used to miss that now I don't and prefer in glass.

Yes I miss that, I remember it having swiping shortcuts too. I had a Nexus 5X and it was good except for the bricking due to badly soldered flash 🤦♂️
I'm still a fan of Nova Launcher and I just have all the network connections disabled on it so I can keep some sort of swipe control. I bought the APK ages back and like maybe once a year I bother them for a license key so I can have full access to it. 😅

You can DM them and they'll give you access to your license key. You just have to prove that you purchased it, so if you dig into the archives of your play purchases, it should be there.

Because Pixel's are developer references. Perhaps not to the same regard as Nexus, but definitely a successor.
