Turns out I have no idea how to best set my channel fees. After my first 1-2 hours of reading, the only thing I have concluded is I am going to keep my base fees at 0 to allow for true micro-transactions and somehow help with payment splitting, Pickhardt payments.

If anybody has a valuable reading resource to help me:

1) Learn how to set fees to keep channels in balance

2) Adjust fees to help encourage a particular flow direction through the channel

3) While maintaining a good routing volume...

Please share.

Thanks in advance.

I spent all of 2021 manually changing fees all of the time to help liquidity move. Then, I ran 0/0 fees for all of 2022. I did this because I just wanted to help facilitate global payments. Now in 2023, I let Lightning Terminal manage my fees. I just want to try something different. I don't know which method is better.

Same problem here. There are managing scripts, but not maintained much, which seems risky while LN code is changing so often.

We just set at network median ppm and 0 base fee:

Then adjust that for channels that unbalance at that rate.

I’ve been manually changing my fees periodically and have started rebalancing weekly. Are you having to rebalance much?
