Got an interpreting request 7 minutes ago for an event in DC in the morning. Here’s to saying you work around the clock 🫡
Discussion
What kind of interpreting do you do?
Most routinely it’s American Sign Language. Spanish and Mandarin are also requested from time to time and I’ve people who do those assignments too 💜Overseas, I’ve sign language interpreters who work on assignments in South Africa and in the UK 💜
Do you do any of the interpreting yourself or just the coordination?
Coordination and nearly always remotely. 💜When there’s really high level production aspects, or if it’s at the Presidential level, I go to staff it/make sure production feels comfortable. I do know ASL though and conversational Spanish.
Amazing work.
My wife is a DHH teacher and is fluent in ASL and I’ve got a client who runs an interpreting service. Wish I were more fluent than I am.
