Growing pains. A big difference is that with this issue users can’t see these images. At least with zaps people still got the sats in their wallet even if it didn’t display consistently in clients. In this case, images displaying consistently in clients is the most important thing for users.

Discussion

Please do not discuss this with me, because I do agree with that part. All I'm saying is, if concensus would be that it's a good idea and all clients support it, it would be fine for everyone. If the majority thinks it's not, Amethyst might need to change it back. The nip is being discussed for some months, and now that clients start to apply it, others go full on blocking it. That's the thing with different dev teams, but also that's what nips are for. An additional issue with this particular one is that it's not unambiguous how it should be used. I still think that this will be resolved one way or another in the next days/weeks.

Why did you reply and bring it up if you didn’t want to discuss it? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

I just wanted to point out, lots of things are being developed and best ideas will stay. And I do agree that it's unfortunate for essentials like images that consensus seems not being given rn.

Agree with you on the part about it being an unfortunate situation. πŸ€™

Adding new features and changing well established features are just not the same thing
