RUMOR: Disney Reportedly Developing New “Winnie The Pooh” Animated Project.The Hundred Acre Wood might be getting in more animated adventures at Disney. As you might know since 2022 after the original book and characters entered the public domain, the IP has been revived and remixed by indie filmakers and indie videogame developers for the slasher horror genre.Meanwhile Disney has been trying to re-introduce the characters to a new generation starting with the sucessful “Playdate With Winnie The Pooh” on Disney Jr. which recently scored a third season renewal. However it seems Disney is looking a big animated comeback for the crew from The Hundred Acre Woods according to a new report from industry insider Daniel RPK. (Mostly know for Marvel Studios scoops)According to Daniel RPK, The Walt Disney Company is indeed developing a new animated Winnie the Pooh project. While plot details are scarce, it’s expected to see the character (and his friends) return back to their animated roots.According to Daniel and The DisInsider, the project will be animated with the goal of returning the IP to it’s original “animated roots”. It’s unknow if this new project will be a new animated film from Walt Disney Animation Studios or a more likely scenario being a new animated series from Disney Television Animation or Disney EMEA Animation for Disney Channel and Disney+.
