I am not against trying, but this approach has failed up until now, largely because most of the people who run the system have been bought and paid for, so they are only serving their own interests rather than those of the people.

How fair are the elections? As an outsider looking in, there does appear to have been at least some fuckery on that front, so it seems like participating in their game is a losing battle unless there is a forced restructuring of the system itself.
