Not much. Maybe the 90s.

That works

Have you tried a sharing table for dinner on a Cruise yet? πŸ˜‚

No but I want to πŸ˜‚

Works on a long train ride, too πŸ˜„

Same with most all inclusive resorts. Community seating is amazing.

I have made lifelong friends this way.

Adventure always helps!

I just start talking to people.

Usually works.

Fair enough πŸ™

I don't know, but i refuse.

Turns out if you don't like sports, your brain may just be wired to be more independent and less tribal.

I can connect with people on a huge number of subjects because I'm well read and well researched. Sports is just one narrow way of connecting with others and honestly, I think it's one of the least meaningful topics to choose.

Ham radio comes close. Just call out CQ CQ CQ and some rando will come back, tell you about his equipment, location, weather, ask anout yours and wish you well.

Whatever the purpose of the conversation, t's always useful to find common ground

I prefer to talk about the weather.

But I'm talking to random elderly people at the park rather than sitting at the bar

Weather is probably the most universal actually. Not always exciting but you can't go wrong
