It is troubling in our society how people with an Internet connection can become experts on any and every topic. Smarter than the medical doctors and cancer researchers. Experts on war one day and running a business the next. I tell people frequently I am a hack. I am not an expert in economics or Bitcoin. I have spent 1000s of hours in recent years studying but I would never say expert. Even after spending decades working with specific software I never said I was an expert in it because I learned something every day. Coding was the only way I could cope inside Corporate America.

It can be lethal to be so smug and arrogant to think by 'watching some YouTube videos or listening to podcasts' you can be an expert in a topic. Just like I can't play violin by watching videos without 10,000 hours of mastering some craft or be a surgeon doing an appendectomy from a .pdf I saw online with the step-by-step instructions.
