Just bought a Faraday bag to keep a copy of the blockchain and a laptop safe in the event of a solar flare or EMP attack. Do I have a problem?

No foolin, I was literally talking to my mom about a Faraday cage for this exact thing. That's crazy.

Which one did you buy? I would make regularly a copy for myself too.

Just a brand called Hodufy on amazon. Cheap but at least big enough for a laptop (most Aren't). It might not be good enough for the use case. I'm sure there are probably different strengths of flares or emp attacks, but I'll use this until I can research enough to conclude I need something better.

Great, thanks! Please if you will have share the new findings.

No. I keep my non GrapheneOS phone (aka the work phone) in there as a protective measure. I never thought of using it to protect my SDD but that is a pretty good idea!

People who do this could be the only ones able to restart bitcoin. However unlikely, I feel compelled to be one of them.

Heirloom seeds and blockchain. Both ready to go.

I say no. But then again.. now that I think on it.. all my people think I’m weird.

Takes one to not recognize one? 🤔

I wholeheartedly support and endorse this level of paranoia.

This kind of thinking is what got us into bitcoin to start with I suppose. 🙂

Indeed. What other lifestyle has you deep diving economic theory, metallurgy, network systems architecture, 3-D printing, local agriculture, steak, and doomsday prepping, among myriad other rabbit holes?
