When did Forbes (online) become a slop machine?

I'm assuming the print version isn't so sloppy(?)

Was it good at some point?

I actually don't know lol. I think the print version has a reputation (still?) for being good. The online version seems to just churn out articles aimed at farming clicks from niche-ish communities.

Like it will have an 'article' about Nostr, everyone on nostr clicks on it. It will have hundreds of articles aimed at similar projects with small fan bases that will click on it. I assume they aren't paying the 'journalists' much. But this adds up if you pump out enough shitty articles.

And totally ruins their reputation lol

Everything is a slop machine these days.

Easily 3 or 4 years ago. The trick is to check if `/sites` is in the URL, and if it is, it's just basically unedited garbage that isn't fact-checked.
