Do cholesterol rich foods help reduce high cholesterol?? If not, what kind of diet would help?

Cholesterol is a non-essential, but vitally important molecule. It is so important that >85% of your cholesterol is produced by your body, regardles off how much dietary cholesterol you eat. Even if you ate 24 eggs a day for weeks, your cholesterol levels would barely change because the liver would adjust by lowering its own production of cholesterol. Stop eating the eggs? The liver just ramps up production again.

40% of cell membranes are made up of cholesterol ,45% in case of red blood cells and neurons.

Cholesterol is the backbone of vitally important structural molecules, like myelin which forms myelin sheaths around nerves.

Cholesterol is the backbone of EVERY steroid hormone in the body, including vitamin D.

There is no evidence that cholesterol levels (lipoproteins, actually) cause heart disease. All we have are very weak correlations between high LDL and/or low HDL with heart disease, amounting to 1.5 or less. It is a complete red herring.
