I partially disagree.

Onboarding would be the best with my lightning node. That is 100% true!

What self-custody solution do you suggest for onboarding?

I like phoenix, but it is costly to open your first channels. So it is kind of demotivating in my opinion, that you need 2-3000sats or more to start to using Phoenix.

What else is there, that would be a good option?

Somehow I think, you need steps. You can't let them know everything at the beginning.

It's a journey.

If you can hook them at the beginning, they can learn everything.

If you tell them too much, they will get confused, and decide it's not for them.

Agree, downloading the wallet from the app store and copying/pasting the address is even too much for many casual users. I have even stopped mentioning NIP-05 to new users.

Once a user is onboarded, options increase dramatically.

Sometimes less is more!

And if you make them interested, and they start to ask questions, you can start to drop the knowledge drop by drop.

We need experience of success, in my opinion, before we go into more details.
