The U.S. Secret Service shot an individual this morning outside of the White House, after having recently received a tip from local law enforcement about a “suicidal individual who may be travelling to Washington D.C. from Indiana.” The incident occurred about a block from the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, when uniformed officers with the Secret Service approached the individual standing outside of his car, leading him to brandish a firearm which resulted in an armed confrontation where he was shot several times. The individual, who was identified later as 27-year-old Andrew Dawson of Indiana, was rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition is still unknown.
