TOR experts, how do I specify or pick new guard nodes? The ones I've been randomly assigned this rotation are horrible and my Lightning node can't stay connected. They all timeout or TOR itself won't even connect.

i.e.

Guard [name] is failing more circuits than usual. Most likely this means the Tor network is overloaded. Success counts are 131/198. Use counts are 0/0. 193 circuits completed, 0 were unusable, 62 collapsed, and 191 timed out.

Commenting because i am interested to learn as well.

I need to learn how to use Tor a bit better regardless

So technicaly your guard is still working. Tor should automatically shift eventually if that one is overloaded. If my understanding is correct

But I just woke up. I really should have coffee before I nostr.

at what degree though? my Lightning channels won't connect and all timeout.

And also this is in my logs.

Failed to find node for hop #1 of our path. Discarding this circuit.

Huh, that's why i begin to use tailscale...

most people operate their nodes over TOR and then use tailscale to connect to their node directly without using TOR. i do that too. this is not that.

Oh ok. When we are at it. Tailscale and Tor can work side by side on umbrel? I had turn off Tor to access tailscale.
