I saw someone's video where he tried to make a 100% American sourced gril cleaner and mentioned how bad those wire brushes can be.

Absolutely! It's now a constant fear of mine any time I go to parties where people are grilling. I usually be that guy and sneak a peek to see if they are using a metal wire brush or not.
Yeah, my first thought when I heard was, "Everyone gets a non wire brush cleaner for Christmas" but that's still a ways out...
I'm kinda glad I don't go to a lot of BBQs 😅 I might be doing the same as you!
