There are self loading trucks, but they're heavy and more expensive.

You can also use a jack to lift the container and drive underneath it.

But for multiple containers, hiring a crane to do the lifting should be cheap and quick.

lifting it up with a jack seems most economical! with a universal trailer like this, the main car could be anything, given it’s strong enough to pull the container

For daily living I'd prefer to not have a trailer, as driving and parking gets a lot more difficult, but for occasional moving this is perfect.

yes and this modularity leaves enough options for all kinds of cars as daily drivers. referring to a discussion with smuggler from the cypherpunk bitstream podcast, I’d go for something like the original mercedes G wagon, as it can be repaired easily and be fueled with almost anything.
