# Sayboard - Speech to Text Keyboard
Sayboard is a newer open source Speech-to-Text keyboard that you can run on DeGoogled phones, making it possible to have voice recognition without using any Big Tech spyware.
Sayboard is based on the [Vosk](https://github.com/alphacep/vosk-android-service) project, and runs offline, which means all the speech recognition is done locally on your phone, without sending your data over the Internet.
Even though Sayboard is in it's early development, it works fairly well. It takes a few seconds for it to open up, and you must typep in puncuation as you go, but other than that, it transcribes fairly good.
You can install it and use it in conjunction with your current keyboard. Just tap the microphone icon on your keyboard, and then hit the "Ready" button to begin.
