Fountain (as well as Podcast Guru and Podverse and many others) lets you download decentralized music as well as the music that is still under Wavlake's custody. For now, the Wavlake app only shows the subset of artists who agree to give Wavlake 10% of their earnings, but those artists can also be kicked off or censored at any time, as they are beholden to the Wavlake platform.

What is good self-hosted-music-foused-PC-2.0 software? To host music I mean.
I use castapod for a podcast but I don't think it would do well for music, but it could work.
i use Music Side Project
musicsideproject.com
But I wouldn't mind seeing Castopod offer it as well.
Oh that's cool. So you wordpress and then use this to generate the rss?
I was thinking today what is the most basic, simplest way to do this. I think nginx, with a folder and the rss xml might be it. And then MSP could help with the rss generation.
I think with castapod you would have to add each mp3 as it's own thing so they'd look like episodes maybe.
I'm not sure castapod would support the album feed with item guids below it.
