I think I just got the human equivalent of a cat bringing a dead bird to its person as a gift.

We have an incredible Hawaiian handyman George who has lived in a tent on the beach for the last 9 years. He is a serious, guarded and surly guy who has not softened towards me in the 5 weeks he has been working for us despite my cooking for him, going out to buy snacks or treats he mentions, buying him a new cooler and filling it with ice every other day, and working alongside him daily, etc until TODAY….

He just left a joint with a note of thanks on my nightstand 😂😅

That’s great 😂

If you want him to open up, bust it out the next time he finishes up something and ask him to hang around a bit longer and share it with you!

lol, I don’t have the heart to tell him I don’t smoke. I find the smell 🤢

Ha, you might have to suck it up here and just not inhale like you’re smoking a cigar! Or at least lie and say you enjoyed it watching a sunrise one morning and haven’t had such a good day in a long time, but then you risk him dropping off more gifts!

Those are the kind of people I gravitate to. It shouldn’t be so easy, your friend sounds very interesting to say the least.

He's a keeper.
