It's a total pain, doesn't help that the US severed the tax treaty because [insert political rant nobody wants to hear]. Will have to relocate unless i want my tax burden to be 60-70%.

Looking like it. I reserved plane tickets yesterday, have another 48h to confirm and started looking into accommodations/rental cars.

I have a buffer before and after the event. Looks like most things in Uvita are within walking distance. One thing to consider is transport to/from SJO, from what I could tell, charter planes are either all booked up or they stop running at like 17:00 and therefor don't align well with most international arrivals at SJO.

Once I order plane tickets, I'm hoping to to find a couple people that get in around the same time and are able to share a van ride to Uvita from SJO. I plan on asking around and using the car pool link.
