basswood are amazing trees. can do well on a variety of sites. I typically have seen them mixed with birches and maples.

Such a useful tree. Fabulous honey, bee/pollinators love them. Beautiful blond wood. Soft inner bark useful for ropes, jute. Scent is heavenly. Lovely star-shaped blossom, and heart-shaped leaves. Straight beauty all around.
