History: I once built a mobile client for orkut, with an instagram-like feature…on Firefox OS. It was wildly popular…in Brazil.

This is cool, but Orkut was the real "im/blogging hybrid" years before Twitter.

No, it was shut down over 10 years ago. But it was dead long before that, when Facebook became famous in Brazil and Google's Brazil office was put in charge of Orkut they decided to add "feeds" and redesign the site to make it more like Facebook, it was a total disaster.
