Wouldn't the spinning of a CD rom also further overheat the machine?

I meant usb thumb drive. But maybe in 05 it won’t boot from a usb?

I’d already by opening up the back case and getting in there to see if can fix it.

There’s probably YT videos on how to do for that model

as mentioned in the original note, Im quite sure its the thermal paste that needs to be replaced. Its not the cost or the know how thats delaying that repair, its the TIME 😉

Currently I have about 6 machines opened up in the process of repair, day job, volunteering, providing bitcoin and linux education classes and doing my laundry lol.

I just want to make it functional before I have the time to replace the thermal paste. Atleast while its installing Arch in the cantina cold cellar, I can multitask and do other things simultaneously 😃

did know you think it’s the T paste.

But don’t that you had this much going .

Well get to work homie

or don’t.

I’m a slacker, not got too much going on but too much planned going on in my head

oh it has booted live USB thousands of times over the past 25 years 😄

yes thats the only way I install GNU/Linux distributions .

For some time now I only buy old but in clean condition old thinkpads for laptops

Most of my machines are Thinkpads. I have one running 24/7 non stop since 2015. Have a couple of brand new ThinkPad T16s, damn amazing.

I will never BUY anything other than a ThinkPad when it comes to laptops.

The one that is running continuously since 2015 I paid 150$ canadian for back in 2015. Used.
