"most couples are age matched" is entirely because of our incredibly artificial school system and the fact that opportunities to meet people basically disappear after you leave college

it's not like that's some law of nature. it's just that our society is totally fucked up and there are no mechanisms to encourage family formation and you have to rely on pure luck
