The problem is that the people here expect a miracle. They want a safer city but demand less police and prosecutions. Not realistic.

For starters, they should prosecute all crime. Including misdemeanors. Starting with the open drug markets. I sat in a meeting once where “petty” crime was discussed. The people who smash windows are the same people who graduate to other things. Especially when drugs are involved. Walk through any block of the Tenderloin and everyone is a zombie.
