Notes from the morning (and isn't it nice to see the piggies here at home instead of wandering the woods). And the first duck egg of the day. Our hens are old and we need a fresh flock next spring. But we still have a couple of ducks and I've found that they are far better layers. The egg in the picture is on top of a dish cloth I handwove years ago. I've since let go of that craft so it's hard to throw away the torn, stained towels I have left. I can see and feel the tinge of autumn in the air!
